Food

Alright, this is my second post but I honestly have no idea what to write about. The topic is food. As I have mentioned in my previous post, I like all kinds of food. In this post, I will be talking about my personal favorites, Western and Japanese food.

Western food can be divided into many categories, an example is Italian, another is typical Western food eaten in many parts of North America, Australia and Europe. Italian food consists of delicacies such as pizzas, pasta, spaghetti and lasagnas. As you can see, most Italian food either have cheese or tomato paste (ketchup) in them which make them very tasty (but fattening). Typical Western food is easily explained using an American continental breakfast meal: sausages, eggs, bacon, hams, salads, toasts, pancakes and many more. I personally like eggs and bacon although I will not mind eating others. They are mostly fried or perhaps baked, sometimes they are eaten raw. They are never steamed or cooked though, that is too Oriental which brings me to my next point.

It is my other favorite cuisine, Japanese. Many inexperienced people (in terms of gourmet) immediately and only think of sushi the moment Japanese cuisine is mentioned. No doubt, sushi is one of my favorites. I favor salmon, 'maguro' (tuna), 'unagi' (eel), 'kani kama' (crab stick) and 'tamago' (egg) fillings in my sushi. However, I feel that Japanese dishes deserve better credit than that. There are 'sashimi' (raw fish) salads, rice dishes ('bento' and 'don') and noodle dishes ('udon', 'soba' and 'ramen') and even more varieties.

Although I will not be elaborating on this point, there is hardly any food which I dislike. I will state a few examples. My one and only detested fruit is the persimmon. For vegetables, I dislike lady's finger, bitter gourd and capsicums. As for meat, almost anything that is not chicken, beef, pork or seafood belongs to my disliked food category. I like most of the other food I eat and I am thankful that this world has so many varieties of good food that I and many others can enjoy.
